Power Rankings: Michigan

Power
Rankings
Michigan:

A little bit more of a shakeup in the Power Rankings this week from some poor performances (Kyle Busch), solid bounce backs (Tony Stewart), and consistent racing (Dale Jr., Clint Bowyer). So let's see where everyone falls in this week's top-10!

New This Week: Tony Stewart
Dropped Out: Kyle Busch
Close, But No Cigar: Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano

1. Matt Kenseth (No Change)

Now he finally does take over the points lead from teammate Greg Biffle with yet another solid run and top-10 finish. With as fast as he's been this year and with how good Roush-Fenway Racing always is at Michigan, look for this guy to take a win in an unsponsored car this weekend.

2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+1 spot)

How many times have we heard these past few years about when is Dale Jr. going to win again? Yeah, way too much. But he could've shut everyone up if he wouldn't have pitted with 20 to go at Pocono (That honor went to Joey Logano instead). Now Jr. heads to the site of his last win, way back in 2008, but once again, he'll be a contender.

3. Jimmie Johnson (+1)

Looks like Johnson found his "Golden Horseshoe" again as he overcame two pit road speeding penalties and somehow ended up in 4th. This weekend is big for Johnson as Michigan is one of the tracks he's never won at. And I don't even know how that's possible for this guy.

4. Greg Biffle (-2)

I'm graciously putting this guy just ahead of Denny Hamlin, but only because that's how it is in the actual standings. The Biff better regain his mojo that he had early this year as he's had two crappy races in a row. Michigan can help ease those pains.

5. Denny Hamlin (No Change)

Pocono was just what the doctor ordered for Hamlin after an awful run at Dover. Now it's on to Michigan for the FedEx crew, where Denny has won the last two June races there. Three-peat anybody?

6. Clint Bowyer (+4)

Bowyer is the beneficiary this week of everyone else's misfortune. That's why he jumped up four spots. Another consistent run and another good track for him this weekend. Not much else to say about this mellow guy.

7. Kasey Kahne (-1)

Kahne was charging hard at Pocono before he got his fender bent in and ended up blowing a tire, ending his top-10 streak. No worries though, Kahne has won at Michigan before, he'll get back on track for sure.

8. Kevin Harvick (No Change)

A somewhat decent run keeps Harvick in his position this week. Michigan has never been one of his best tracks, but he did score a win here a year and a half ago, so your guess is as good as mine.

9. Tony Stewart (+2)

Stewart bounced back from a terrible two week stretch to finish third at Pocono. The weather is heating up, which means Stewart is too and he'll start to win races now. Oh wait, he already did that, in March? Yeah, it's already been a weird year.

10. Martin Truex Jr. (-3)

This picture I put up for Martin is the exact opposite of how he felt Sunday after he go the side of his car shredded off on the first lap. The dude still is in the top-10 in points though, so he's in good shape....for now. Yeah, keep running well just to be safe Martin.
