Martinsville:
An odd race of sorts at Fontana, but most of the top contenders still held their ground. Let's see what this week's rankings look like:
New In This Week: None
Dropped Out: None
Close, But No Cigar: Ryan Newman
1. Greg Biffle (No Change)
Another week, another solid performance. Biffle has been the model of consistency this season, but if he wants to win the championship he better find a way to win races and not pull what Carl Edwards did last year.
2. Kevin Harvick (No Change)
The defending Fontana winner quietly had a strong run, finishing 5th. He's also the defending spring winner at Martinsville, a track that he had never typically been good at.
3. Tony Stewart (+3)
Stewart for sure looks like the man to beat this season. He's been fast in nearly every race this season. Oh yeah, and he's also the defending winner at Martinsville, in the fall race of last season.
4. Jimmie Johnson (No Change)
Once again, Johnson has that lucky horseshoe lying around is seems. Had the race gone back to green at all, Johnson would've suffered a terrible finish just like at Daytona. On to Martinsville though, where Johnson is in heaven.
5. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (No Change)
Earnhardt is having a season similar to Biffle's, but also he must find a way to pull off a win or two this year if he wants to call his season a success. He almost won Martinsville last year, until Harvick came out of nowhere.
6. Matt Kenseth (-3)
A 16th place finish isn't the worst thing in the world, but compared to where everyone else finished, it seemed pretty lackluster. Kenseth goes this week to probably his least favorite track in Martinsville.
7. Martin Truex Jr. (+1)
Truex continues to have his best season ever, even though it's only five weeks in. He keeps posting his best finishes at tracks almost every race, we'll see if that keeps up.
8. Clint Bowyer (+1)
Bowyer also continues to keep up on his early season success. MWR is truly on their game to start this year.
9. Denny Hamlin (+1)
Hamlin was challenging for lead all race long and probably had a car to challenge Tony towards the end. But pitting at the end just as the rain came proved to be fatal as it left Denny outside the top 10 in 11th.
10. Brad Keselowski (-3)
Keselowski was bitten by the pit road bug like so many others at Fontana. Hasn't proven much at Martinsville, so we'll see what kind of performance he can put up this weekend.
Tune in at 1 on Sunday for some awesome racing at Martinsville!
