(NASCAR Style)

A very odd race played out this weekend at Dover with only six cars being on the lead lap for a big portion of the race. In the end it turned out to be a finish worth watching with fuel milage coming into play and that set up a pretty interesting race atop the points standings. The past week also saw a pair of men pass away who were very influential to NASCAR, as well as a big goof up by the pilot of a plane carrying many NASCAR team members and drivers. Let's check out the driver's opinions and points of view on all of these matters.

Sad to hear the passing of Bob Newton. Founder of Hoosier tire for those who don't know.
-@DavidStremme (David Stremme) on Bob Newton's passing. He founded Hoosier Tire which is the tire still used in some of NASCAR's lower divisions.

Sad week in motorsports losing Bob Newton & Chris Economaki. Both were pioneers & really meant a lot to the sport. They will be missed.
-@JeffGordonWeb (Jeff Gordon) also giving his thoughts to Bob Newton, as well as Chris Economaki, the Dean of Motorsports, who acted as a commentator and a journalist for the sport.

Man the harpoons Concord Mills mall there are about 700 people from the Regional airport headed your way probably looking for beer and food!
-@landoncassill (Landon Cassill) after the pilot of a plane carrying 200 members of various NASCAR teams and drivers drove off of the runway and got stuck in mud at Concord, North Carolina's airport because he was looking at his phone. The people on the plane had to wait three hours to get a new plane.

Super busy day. getting some dinner now, check out my date. Doesn't talk much
-@JoeyLogano (Joey Logano) and his hot date! NOT!

I couldn't believe my eyes. I just saw @ClintBowyer running... and nothing was chasing him!
-@JimmieJohnson (Jimmie Johnson) on the apparent fact that fellow driver Clint Bowyer isn't one to work out often. Bowyer later explained that he was running to get in better driving shape in order to beat Johnson because Johnson is such an "over achiever".

Wow freaking wow....thanks everybody! Thank you @freightliner and @JoeGibbsRacing. Did that just happen?!
-@BubbaWallace (Darrell Wallace Jr., Nationwide driver) on his very first Nationwide pole which he captured at Dover.

If you follow the trail of ice cream you'll find my room
-@Ryan_Truex (Ryan Truex, Nationwide driver) who apparently can't handle his ice cream.

AJ is pissed.. just watched it on youtube.. funny
-@DennyHamlin (Denny Hamlin) on watching a video that Truck Series driver Johnny Sauter recommended people to watch to get a sense of his feelings after he was wrecked during the race at Las Vegas. Below is that very same video.

WOW!! @NelsonPiquet puts a move on in turn one on last lap. That was awesome @TurnerMotorspts
-@kaseykahne (Kasey Kahne) on Nelson Piquet Jr.'s awesome last lap pass on Matt Crafton to win the Truck Series race at Las Vegas. Kahne's feelings were seconded by several other drivers simply because the pass was that crazy!

Fuel mileage... Lol.
-@DennyHamlin (Denny Hamlin) on the reason that he lost out on a top-5 at Dover which did indeed become a fuel milage race. Hamlin had to pit with ten laps left, giving up the lead.

Enjoying my morn coffee at my fav spot & in walks a guy wearing a 24 hat. He had no idea he was sitting next to me til I said "nice hat"
-@JeffGordonWeb (Jeff Gordon) on surprising a fan off his Tuesday morning.
