Twitter Tuesdays (NASCAR Style) Aug. 14

 Twitter
Tuesdays
(NASCAR Style)

Oil was the talk of the weekend at Watkins Glen after it wreaked havoc on some drivers and created one insanely good finish, one of the best in recent NASCAR history. Many drivers voiced their opinions on the oil slickened affair and of course there are the usual hilarious random tweets the drivers dish out every week. So let's check out the humor and the strife in this week's Twitter Tuesday wrap-up!

They Said It:

Quote of the day...By Kenny Schrader We race so we have something to talk about when we're drinking!!! #Hero
-@ClintBowyer (Clint Bowyer) sharing a great quote from former NASCAR driver Ken Schrader.

massive respect for @RalphGilles standing up and dishing out tough news about @dodge himself.
-@keselowski (Brad Keselowski) speaking about Dodge president Ralph Gilles who made the decision last Tuesday that Dodge will leave NASCAR at the end of the 2012 season. Keselowski himself is a Dodge driver, one of only two in the entire Sprint Cup Series.

I'm standing up in my living room yelling at my tv over a women's beach volleyball match. This only happens once every four years I promise.
-@landoncassill (Landon Cassill) during one of Misty May and Kerry Walsh's matches in the Olympics which were very exciting indeed.

what a bad way to start the weekend.. that was our best road course car. Watkins Glen you better start being nice to me
-@dennyhamlin (Denny Hamlin) after he got run into by Jeff Burton during practice after a car blew his engine in front of them.

Hell of a move by Rowdy! Wow!
-@BubbaWallace (Darrell Wallace Jr., K&N driver) after Kyle Busch pulled off a three wide pass to take the lead with 16 laps to go.

One of the best races I've ever seen
-@chaseelliott (Chase Elliott, K&N driver) after seeing the last two laps which were insane. If you want to see a replay of the race, check out yesterday's post for a video.

That was absolutely insane!!!!!! What a race
-@J_Allgaier (Justin Allgaier, Nationwide driver) also going nuts over the finish where Kyle Busch got wrecked after slipping in oil which allowed Brad Keselowski and Marcos Ambrose to fight for the win.

I got it wrong in post race interview, 18 wasn't leaking oil, his was brake smoke. The 47 was the car leaking oil heavily.
-@keselowski (Brad Keselowski) correcting himself after he stated in his interview that Kyle Busch was leaking oil when he was actually sliding in Bobby Labonte's oil that Labonte laid down a lap earlier.

Those last 2 laps were slick with all that oil down! A solid day for @LowesRacing and I'm really happy we are leading the points.
-@JimmieJohnson (Jimmie Johnson) commenting on the oil as well as taking the points lead after Dale Earnhardt Jr. spun out with 7 laps left.

Found recipe for great finishes. Send a car out on the track with 2 to go every week and oil the track down. PROFIT
-@landoncassill (Landon Cassill) finding some humor in the havoc that the oil created, stating they should do that every week to create insane finishes.

When you flame some1 on twitter, you're discouraging others from joining and everybody loses. Thats why guys like dale jr aren't on here....
-@keselowski (Brad Keselowski) commenting about people that slam him on Twitter for the way he races and showing why certain drivers aren't on Twitter to avoid unwanted criticism.

Are drugs legal over there??? It keeps getting worse...or I'm sober!
-@ClintBowyer (Clint Bowyer) on the odd closing ceremonies of the Olympics, joking that drugs were the cause of that craziness.

Check in next week after the Sprint Cup Series hits the lightning fast Michigan International Raceway!
