Twitter Tuesdays (NASCAR Style) Jul. 17

Twitter
Tuesdays
(NASCAR Style)

I have returned from power outages and the Canadian wilderness to bring back Twitter Tuesday's (NASCAR Style), but once again it will be for a short time as I head back to the Canadian wilderness this weekend. Until then, let's just all enjoy some hilarious and quality tweets from the best drivers in the world!

What a day. So pumped to get another win for HMS. Really strong team. Great effort guys! #FARMERS5
-@kaseykahne (Kasey Kahne) on his first career New Hampshire win this past weekend. As you can see, the winner receives a monstrous lobster as part of winning. What a lucky man, that's awesome.

Darian was set on taking 2 tires but I told him that I needed tires and he took it as 4. Still had a hell of a run
-@dennyhamlin (Denny Hamlin) explaining the final pit scenario that put him in 11th with roughly fifty laps to go after he dominated the day until that point. A miscommunication cause Hamlin's crew chief Darian Grubb to put 4 tires on the car instead of 2 like every other car did. Still, Hamlin drove from 11th to 2nd and only needed a few more laps to catch Kahne. It was one hell of a drive considering no one could pass all day.

Awww I have a little @mattkenseth soap in my shower. How sweet
-@dennyhamlin (Denny Hamlin) two days before the New Hampshire race. Hamlin apparently bought Zest bath soap, a product that sponsors fellow driver Matt Kenseth, and it was in the shape and likeness of Kenseth's car (above). After Hamlin's amazing rally to second at the end of the race, Kenseth had this to say on Twitter:

Man were you fast @dennyhamlin, it must have been the little race car soap! #Zest
-@mattkenseth (Matt Kenseth) trying to explain the cause of Hamlin's furious late race rally. But we all know soap can't cause someone to be faster right? Right?

Took roughly 5 minutes of watching the #ESPYs 2 remember everything that's wrong with sports... #PopCulture > heart, passion & will2win
-@keselowski (Brad Keselowski) and his thoughts on watching this year's version of the ESPY awards for sports. Keselowski believes that pop culture over rules all aspects of what sports are really about and frankly, I couldn't agree more. Now in sports, it's all about who gets the biggest contract and who is dating the superstar, instead of focusing on an athlete's heart and will to win. It's pretty disgraceful.

I'll b sure to ask @KevinHarvick not to take out his frustrations from today on the "24" tomorrow.
-@JeffGordonWeb (Jeff Gordon) on fellow driver Kevin Harvick, who, in the Nationwide race, was leading with under twenty laps left and was blocked by rookie driver Angela Cope who was driving the #24 car and was over thirty laps down. Harvick called out Cope after the race in an angry rage and Gordon was hoping that Harvick wouldn't take out the #24 in the Sprint Cup race because the #24 is driven by Gordon in that Series, of course.

Looking forward to tomorrow should be an intense race! Best part about it is I know the #24 will be able to drive straight tomorrow!
-@KevinHarvick (Kevin Harvick) cracking a little joke about the Cope incident, stating he knows the #24 would drive better in the Sprint Cup race because four-time champ Gordon would be behind the wheel instead of a rookie driver in Cope.

Brace yourself - the band chumbawba broke up. Now what?
-@DanicaPatrick (Danica Patrick) possibly using some sarcasm here. The British band Chumbawamba was a "one-hit wonder" band with their 1997 hit "Tubthumping" (otherwise known as "I Get Knocked Down, But I Get Up Again). The band hasn't been heard of since, so their breakup wasn't of high note.

Hey @SamHornish, how do you make your hair look so good after wearing a helmet for 3 hours??
-@dennyhamlin (Denny Hamlin) razzing fellow driver Sam Hornish about his hair, which always appears perfectly coiffed, even after a long race. It's a mystery to us all.

Check in for Twitter Tuesday again in two weeks after I return from the Great White North!
